DEBATE TABLES: THE COMPLIANCE PROTAGONISTS

The First Compliance Congress of Barcelona has three discussion panels that try to reflect on the role of the different members of the organization in the development and implementation of the Compliance systems.

Through the THREE PANELS, we intend to offer a joint vision of how organizations live and face the implementation of Compliance and their relationships among them.

I: ENTREPRENEUR, WORKER AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER: AN INEVITABLE ALLIANCE?

Representatives of business associations, unions and Compliance Officers will comment on how they perceive and what they expect from Compliance and what are the relationships established between them within the organizations.

If Compliance improves the organization and the role of all its employees, are they engaged in an inevitable alliance?

The second panel will bring together a broad representation of Compliance Officers who work in various types of organizations.

They will discuss which are the main pressures they receive when performing their work and how their activity should be regulated to guarantee adequate autonomy and independence.

III: LAWYER AND SELF-REGULATION: A MILENARY PROFESSION AGAINST A CHANGE OF PARADIGM

The lawyer is no stranger to the emergence of self-regulation, which has forced him to revise his traditional role and understand what are the professional approaches that can or should be adopted in the future.

We will discuss this with lawyers who have opted for non-traditional professional options such as Compliance Officers, data protection delegate or auditor of Compliance systems.

The academic program of the First Compliance Barcelona Congress is divided in two types of technical panels, aimed at different profiles of attendees, which are organized simultaneously in independent rooms.

OVERVIEW: Designed to provide the attendee with a broad understanding of what is Compliance and what are the current trends in the hands of the best experts and authorities in the field.

ETHICS, GOOD GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE: ORGANIZATIONS AGAINST THE PARADIGM OF THE XXIst CENTURY

This panel will analyse the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility, Good Governance and Compliance to facilitate an understanding of the term Compliance: what it means, what its foundations are and how we can identify a Compliance system or program.
